Zimbabwe Women’s Bureau (ZWB) is a national membership Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO) formed in the 1950s and registered in 1978 to promote, facilitate and support the achievement of socio-economic and rights of women in Zimbabwe. It is registered by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare as a PVO (W.O.45/78) and has a membership of over 25 000 women and girls in 35 districts across 10 provinces. Since its inception, ZWB has adopted a pluralistic, participatory, sustainable and holistic approach to women’s empowerment and development. ZWB has implemented programmes aimed at promoting agriculture, technical skills capacity for household, food security, sustainable livelihoods, gender, research, documentation, information dissemination and advocacy.
